EaGlES fly DiScov r whErE H l vill n y WHERE Eagles Fly is a special program of bird-themed activities for all ages. Visitors will enjoy thrilling close encounters with their favourite birds, get up close to magni cent birds of prey and discover the zoo keeper s training secrets. Get the chance to meet Jess the wedge-tailed eagle, the star and veteran of our Spirits of the Sky presentation. Jess is 44 years old, the oldest animal at the sanctuary, and kids will be able to compare their wingspan with his following the show to see what it really takes to y like an eagle. The presentation will also include new guest stars -- parrots and lorikeets - and new enrichment activities for the raptors. Keep a lookout on your travels though the sanctuary as our birds will also be leaving the ight arena to explore bushland pathways with their trainers. Witness the skill and agility of these amazing birds up close. You may even be treated to a meeting with their Peregrine falcon, the world s fastest animal, which can reach speeds of more than 300km/h. She ll sit still for a little while on the trainer s glove, while you can nd out what it takes to train this incredible bird of prey. And if that s not enough reason to spend a day at the sanctuary this summer then check out the Creek Play at Badger Creek where the kids can cool down, or take part in the fun emu egg and spoon races. The Spirits of the Sky presentation runs daily at Healesville Sanctuary at noon and 2.30pm and is free with general admission. Admire those spirits of the sky Music to your ears as sun goes down Soar into Healesville Sanctuary this summer as it celebrates the 25th anniversary of the world-renowned Spirits of the Sky presentation. STARS OF THE SHOW WATCH the sun set and the Zoo Twilights stage light up at Melbourne Zoo this summer. The Zoo Twilights Concert Series will be held every Friday and Saturday from January 29 to March 12, 2016, as Melbourne Zoo welcomes a selection of local and international artists to the stage for the 2016 summer music concerts. From rock legends like Jebediah and Birds of Tokyo to the smooth acoustic and indie tunes of José González, John Butler Trio and Josh Pyke, there s something for everyone. Mark Seymour & The Undertow, Colin Hay, Kasey Chambers, Belinda Carlisle and Pseudo Echo will also grace the Zoo Twilights stage. Don t forget to explore the zoo at dusk or catch one of the keeper presentations, then get settled in for a night of good food, great company and some even better tunes on the Twilights lawn. All tickets sales contribute to Zoos Victoria s work saving the endangered eastern barred bandicoot. Tickets are on sale now at zoo.org.au/ twilights.
