We ve scouted around the region and come up with some suggestions for that perfect Sunday outing where your senses will be satis ed with scenery, sumptuous food and surroundings. ALBURY-WODONGA TO ESKDALE AND MITTA MITTA This drive offers up two good choices. Eskdale is approx 63kms from Albury- Wodonga and Mitta Mitta about 80kms. Both pubs have seen new management and upgrades in recent times with the Mitta Pub (formerly The Laurel) experiencing quite an overhaul. The drive into Eskdale (via Lockharts Gap) is very pretty, and the continuation onto Mitta is pretty spectacular. (If you were keen on covering more miles you could do the round trip and go up to Omeo and onto Mt Hotham before returning via Bright and Myrtleford - approx 393kms). If you re going to the Mitta this summer, take your swimmers and a towel. On its back door step is one of the prettiest freshwater creek swimming holes to be found. THE ESKDALE PUB Open: 11am daily and licensed to 1am.
